Drew and Holly: Middletown VA Wedding

This past summer I had the pleasure of capturing Drew and Holly's engagement photos at Meadowlark Gardens in McLean Virginia. I was excited to photograph them again this fall for their wedding, held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Strausburg. This was a beautiful church with large stained glass windows and an older feeling to the building. The reception was held at Holly's home in Middletown and included a fire pit, a moon bounce, and a dance floor that never got quiet!

Holly is quite the artist herself, which was fun since that meant that she was open to just about anything! It was an honor to be asked to capture their engagement and wedding photos.

Holly didn't show signs of stress the entire day, she was an excited bride throughout the entire process!

It was great to watch the interaction of the bridesmaids and Holly, it was clear they are and will be lifelong friends!

See what I mean? A crazy fun bunch of bridesmaids!

We didn't have to go far for Holly's portraits, we had everything we needed right outside her front door! I wanted to highlight the bright colors of autumn with her excited and friendly personality. But as soon as I started capturing the intense colors I saw the need for black and white images to highlight her elegance.

Meanwhile, Drew was getting ready at the Wayside Inn, a small country inn, tavern, and restaurant. Drew is a lot like Holly with his very personable, friendly nature. It is easy for anyone to tell that they are a perfect match for each other!

After all the preparations came the big moment when Holly walked down the aisle to meet her groom! So much time is spent getting ready that it is hard to believe that the marriage is finally happening! It is exhilarating to see it all come together, and to have a front row seat!

The first kiss!

And the second kiss...

In order to get from the church to the reception at the farm, everyone made the ride in a trolley!

The reception was filled with incredible moments like these. The first dance, and mother/son and father/daughter dances were a touching look at the love that is shared among this family.

Now this was one of the best reception parties I have been a part of! It seemed like the dance floor was filled constantly! What a great group of friends this couple is blessed with.

One of my favorite moments of the night was watching the bride dance with the flower girl.

This was a great wedding, and I wish Drew and Holly a blessed marriage and a wonderful life together. Click here if you would like to see all of the images from their day!
