Charles and Jenna's Wedding Day!

I first photographed Charles and Jenna during their engagement session back in October, and I could not have been more excited for their wedding day! Charles and Jenna are very down-to-earth, calm people, who did excellently in front of the camera. Their tasteful style came out at both their wedding ceremony at Immanuel Bible Church and their reception at Harbour View in Woodbridge.

I don't often capture the bridal party images indoors, but Charles and Jenna wanted to feature the church's unique sanctuary. This was a perfect opportunity for me to utilize simple and creative lighting that complimented the space. Beautiful portraits in the sanctuary would not have been possible without additional lighting. I used two hotshoe flashes with umbrellas set at a 45 degree angle to the party to provide soft light in a dim space. This was easy to set up and move, and it was more than powerful enough to illuminate the subjects properly.  It was a fun and different creative process for me to use the lights indoors in this way. I used a similar setup during the reception to bring out the dazzling colors of the Harbour View reception hall and freeze the action of the dancers.

There were so many unique moments between the bride and groom, parents, and guests, so the highlights below only scratch the surface of the hundreds of other images found here. Please visit the full gallery to see everything from start to finish, and to purchase any printed images from the day. If you were a guest, it is likely I got your photo, so visit the guest portrait gallery to see them all!

Enjoy the memories, and be sure to like, share, and comment on your favorite images!
