Catoctin Creek Distillery Wedding Vow Renewal | Josh and Frances

What a privilege to see a strong lasting marriage relationship. Last week I had the honor of capturing Josh and Frances renewing their wedding vows in front of their family, friends and two sons. They met each other while on deployment in Spain 14 years earlier. Now, 10 years after their marriage in a small courthouse, they recommitted themselves to each other and held their vow renewal at what Frances called "a cool spot." That could not be a more perfect description. Catoctin Creek is just cool!

Catoctin Creek Distillery in Purcellville is a very unique place for a wedding event. It is an active distillery, which, fun fact, was founded "in 2009 as the first legal distillery in Loudoun County since before Prohibition."  I loved capturing portraits around the venue, utilizing the barrels, the machinery, the unique architecture; it was very different from more standard wedding venues.

It was fun to get to know this incredible couple even for just a short time. To give you a sense of what they are like, Josh and Frances were quick to agree to my idea of running out into the night to capture candid portraits in the pouring rain! I guess that isn't much for two military vets.
