Micro Wedding in Warrenton Virginia | The Blue Door Kitchen and Inn | Nicolas and Tara
I got excited as I drove out to the Shenandoah Valley to join Nicholas, Tara, and their families at their mountain cabin. Their wedding landed on one of the first beautiful fall days! The air was refreshing and the sky a deep blue as I drove up the steep driveway to their home on the hillside.
With both families all getting ready together in the same home, the anticipation and excitement were palpable!! Tara finished putting on her gown and shared that this was her mother’s wedding gown, altered to be a perfect fit for her today. It was the meaningful touches like this throughout the day that made their wedding even more special. This was going to be a small wedding, but no less important and no less meaningful for everyone.
Once everyone was ready we all drove to where the wedding would be held at The Blue Door Kitchen and Inn. This restaurant, bed and breakfast, and event space was one of the most beautiful, quaint places I’ve seen! Complete with a garden, outdoor covered reception space, and an extensive area under the trees for the ceremony, we never lacked for great photo areas.
For their ceremony, Nicholas and Tara had prepared a number of beautiful chairs and couches arranged on colorful rugs, all spaced out and artfully arranged under the tree cover. During the ceremony family spoke about the strong bond between Nicholas and Tara and how they were all so excited to see them taking this step into marriage. We finished out the day by exploring around the venue and capturing relaxed candid photos of the two of them.
