Old Town Alexandria Engagement Session | Rob and Angela
When clients ask where we should go for their engagement photos, my reply is, let's go to a place that holds meaning for you. It could be your favorite date spot, your favorite hiking trail, most memorable place, or anywhere else. In Rob and Angela's case, we went back to where they got engaged, the waterfront in Old Town Alexandria!
Angela recounted the story of her engagement to Rob.
"Rob kept throwing me off the scent by "organizing other events" that made me think he was going to propose (for instance he asked me to pick a date to go hot air ballooning, something I've always wanted to do), but in reality he planned a dinner at the Chart House but told me we were going because his parents got a gift card. After we ate, he took me outside where we bumped into two of his friends, unbeknownst to me they were there to photograph the surprise. We made our way to the end of the pier where he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him."
Clearly, Alexandria was the perfect place for their engagement session! We began their engagement session along the streets in Alexandria and slowly made our way toward the water. This is one of my favorite methods of engagement photography, we explore! It's incredible the photo gems you can find when new or familiar places meet the unique lighting situations the day you are there.
This was such good time getting to know Rob and Angela. I've never had such an easy job and I am truly looking forward to their wedding next year! Enjoy their highlights below!
