Spring Shenandoah Mountain Wedding | Aniket and Susan
Travel has always been a big part of Aniket and Susan's relationship. Their first date over pizza and ice cream came shortly after meeting online, with Aniket having just returned from a trip to Portugal and India. A few months later they knew there was something truly special between them and they planned their first cross-country trip! Only a few months later Aniket would propose to Susan surrounded by family in Malham, UK.
Aniket has been to 13 national parks, so when the time came to choose a venue, he knew a national park would be perfect for them. Susan wanted to have the option for family and friends to stay the weekend, as this would be a long trip for some and the first time much of their family would meet. Skyland Resort in the Shenandoah National Park was the place!
The Shenandoah in early spring is a gorgeous place. Buds were just starting to appear in places, though many of the trees were just weeks or days away from true green. On their wedding day, Susan and Aniket enjoyed the spring weather with a sunny outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour, and portraits at one of Skyline Drives many stunning overlooks.
What I loved about their wedding was the mix of cultures. This was an American wedding filled with Indian wedding themes, especially during the reception! Aniket did an Indian dance with his mom, then my good friend DJ Romin Zandi filled the night with the most fun Bollywood and Indian songs! It was a packed floor all night!
The night ended with guests and the couple around the fire, roasting smores in true Shenandoah style. Enjoy their story below!
