Washington DC Wedding at Holy Rosary and Union Station | Sam and Ale
Sam and Ale’s wedding was a whirlwind day full of tear-filled eyes, heartwarming family traditions, and tons of great memories! Let me take you through it.
We all started getting ready at the JW Marriott in Washington, DC. Here I got to see the incredible friendships Ale has made over the years with her bridesmaids, as well as many deep family relationships. I loved capturing Sam’s reaction to seeing Ale, as well as some stunning bridal party images at the Freedom Plaza just outside of the hotel.
From there we moved to Holy Rosary Catholic Church for the ceremony, a church with an absolutely beautiful sanctuary. Organ music moved through the room and many eyes were filled with tears as Ale and her dad walked down the aisle. My favorite part of the ceremony and of the day had to be the lasso that was draped over Sam and Ale by her grandparents. This lasso comes from her Mexican family heritage and has been used with nine wedding couples to date. Each of those couples has a medallion on the lasso with their name and wedding date. It was a powerful sight to see history being laid around their necks, joining them together into a new legacy of their own.
But the ceremony was just the start of the day, next we moved to Union Station to celebrate at their reception! The red carpet lead the way into the incredible architecture of Union Station. A high ceiling ballroom and expansive dance floor was packed all night thanks to the music of The Elements, one of the best wedding bands I have ever heard. Guests danced all night, breaking only to enjoy heartfelt speeches from friends and family.
To finish the night on a high point all 230 guests lined the front walkway of Union Station for a spectacular sparkler exit! Enjoy their photo story below!
