Washington D.C. is an incredible place to be in May. The weather is perfect, trees are full with deep green leaves, and everything is fresh having just sprung up after a long winter. It’s a very pleasant time of year, perfect for an engagement session!

Andrew and Courtney came to me with a desire for candid wedding and engagement images that showed their true emotions. They love the this area and wanted to have a mix of DC scenes that showed both natural and man-make elements. With it being such a nice time of year we chose to start around the Jefferson Memorial at the Tidal Basin and make our way to the Navy Yard park for the last half of the session.

This is a fun couple to get to know, and throughout the session I could see that Andrew and Courtney just have a great time being together. It was easy to coax genuine smiles and laughter out of them, and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding coming later this year! Enjoy the highlights from their session below!

I don’t take it lightly when you invite me into your story.

After 10+ years and hundreds of weddings, this remains true: it all starts with trust, connection, and a shared belief that this really matters.

Whether we’re hiking through Shenandoah, gathering with your people downtown, or in the backyard of a beloved home, I’m there to notice what’s sacred and make it last. I aim to capture the kind of photographs that don’t just look beautiful, but genuinely reflect you and the life you’re creating.
