Martin Luther King Jr. Oratorical Contest Highlights

Personal

On January 19th I had the pleasure of photographing the Martin Luther King Jr. Oratorical Contest held at the Hylton Memorial Chapel in Woodbridge Virginia for Prince William Living magazine.

I was thoroughly impressed by the ability of these middle and high school students to express themselves orally. They gave passionate speeches about Martin Luther King Jr. and the issue of justice today, and brought the crowd to their feet numerous times in the process. By being at the front and close to the students, I was able to capture some incredible emotions and expressions that tell the story of what these young adults are like at the podium.

These are just the highlights from the event. To see many more, visit Prince William Living at this link, where you can view and purchase any of the images.

I don’t take it lightly when you invite me into your story.

After 10+ years and hundreds of weddings, this remains true: it all starts with trust, connection, and a shared belief that this really matters.

Whether we’re hiking through Shenandoah, gathering with your people downtown, or in the backyard of a beloved home, I’m there to notice what’s sacred and make it last. I aim to capture the kind of photographs that don’t just look beautiful, but genuinely reflect you and the life you’re creating.
