Alexandria VA: Phillips Family Photos

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of exploring Jones Point Park, Alexandria VA, with the Phillips family. I already knew most of the family and we had a great time capturing family shots.

I have photographed many families, but never one that laughed so much! I have found that laughing helps people to loosen up in front of the camera and that was definitely the case in this shoot. The evening was full of laughing and joking, it was clear that this was a family that loved each other and knew how to have fun together. Below are a few of the fun outtakes from the evening.

It was incredibly windy during the shoot, so in order to get out of the large gusts we had to use the lighthouse as a windbreak! But all in all we had a beautiful spring evening in a lovely Alexandria location. Enjoy the images, and let me know what your trick for getting comfortable in front of the camera is!

I don’t take it lightly when you invite me into your story.

After 10+ years and hundreds of weddings, this remains true: it all starts with trust, connection, and a shared belief that this really matters.

Whether we’re hiking through Shenandoah, gathering with your people downtown, or in the backyard of a beloved home, I’m there to notice what’s sacred and make it last. I aim to capture the kind of photographs that don’t just look beautiful, but genuinely reflect you and the life you’re creating.
