Old Town Alexandria Engagement Session: Paul and Shannon

filed under:

Engagement

Old Town Alexandria is one of those places that I never get tired of exploring. For Paul and Shannon’s engagement session, that’s exactly what we did.

We had a few places in mind that we wanted to hit as we walked the streets of Alexandria, such as the waterfront, their favorite coffee shop Killer ESP, and of course the cobblestone paved King Street, but largely we just walked around, stopping to capture images where we felt inspired.

This lead to some neat shots, my favorite of which came when we discovered the bright yellow wall of a bike shop. I can’t wait to photograph Paul and Shannon’s wedding later this year, especially after seeing how great they were in front of the camera! I had no trouble getting them to laugh, smile, and enjoy this “date” together.

I don’t take it lightly when you invite me into your story.

After 10+ years and hundreds of weddings, this remains true: it all starts with trust, connection, and a shared belief that this really matters.

Whether we’re hiking through Shenandoah, gathering with your people downtown, or in the backyard of a beloved home, I’m there to notice what’s sacred and make it last. I aim to capture the kind of photographs that don’t just look beautiful, but genuinely reflect you and the life you’re creating.
