Engagement Session at Burke Lake | Jason and Monica
I always enjoy it when I get the chance to go on an adventure with my clients. Whether it’s hiking a mountain or walking the streets of a city, I enjoy the exploration. Stumbling on a great composition or an area with great lighting brings out better moments than if you planned every shot.
I found that happening over and over with Jason and Monica at their engagement session at Burke Lake! They were interested in having their session in a local outdoor area and weren’t worried that it was winter. I love the variety of each season, but there is something special about winter sessions. Without their leaves, the forest is full of unique angles, lines, and tones that we otherwise wouldn’t see. It’s a completely different feel from the rest of the year.
The three of us walked along the Burke Lake waterfront, finding a number of compelling areas. We even had a few friendly geese swim our way, eager to get in on the photos and no doubt hoping for some food. I enjoyed Jason and Monica’s friendly, open, and caring demeanor. I was easily able to help them relax, not focusing on the fact that they were being photographed, simply enjoying the time in the outdoors together.
