Norfolk VA Wedding | Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center | Glenn and Rosemarie
There were a few things that got me excited leading up to Glenn and Rosemarie’s wedding day. First, I’ve known Rosemarie for a few years through the local photography community; she is an avid photographer and a wonderful person to know. Second, their wedding venue was Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center, one of the most unique looking spaces where I’ve captured a wedding. But third, at their engagement session I got to see their fun-loving, up-for-anything personalities, and I knew their wedding day was going to be amazing!
Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center is a modern building that has floor to ceiling windows and a large circular area for the ceremony and reception. In addition, it enjoys an expansive view of the waterfront and sits directly against the Nauticus maritime exhibits building and the Battleship Wisconsin, a WWII era battleship. It’s a unique venue to say the least!
We started together with Glenn and Rosemarie at The Main Hilton in their hometown, Norfolk, Virginia. The view from their presidential suite was incredible 21 floors up! After a first look, family photos, and much more at the hotel we moved just a few blocks to the venue where they would say their vows.
Their ceremony included some traditional Filipino wedding customs, including a coin bearer, as well as a cord and veil ceremony where close family members wrap them in a cord and veil to symbolically join the two together. It was a beautiful personal touch to an already perfect ceremony.
For their reception we captured photos of everything from tear-filled dances to the hilarious money dance, to delicious foods and drinks at the espresso station and snowcone truck! This was a day full of Glenn and Rosemarie’s favorites and it was a blessing to be able to capture it all!
Enjoy the photo story below and thanks to all the wonderful vendors at the bottom of the post who helped make this day a success!
