Weddings are a blast, I truly love photographing them. But what is also exciting to me, as a husband and a father, is the families that come out of those weddings! New life brings new exciting stories to capture. A family lifestyle session isn’t about getting picture perfect images. It’s about getting real moments, ones that hold depth and meaning that will last for years into yours and your children’s lives.

The McDonald family came to me before their third child was born, wanting to have a session just after their new son Oliver was delivered. A week after his birth we joined together at a local park just minutes from their home. We explored, played, and came together in a relaxed way that allowed everyone to be easily involved yet not feel overwhelmed. The kids had a great time playing in the wooded area and we got natural fun images as well as images of the whole family together. We even got to include a sister and grandmother who were a huge help in making the session a success!

From there we moved over to their home, photographing them in the place that holds countless memories for them. The kids drew, helped their Dad make coffee, cooked, and played as a family while I capture the scenes. These are some of my favorite images to capture. As time goes on your kids will be able to connect back to memories at that home, the home they grew up in. It is the perfect backdrop for family photos!
