Business up front, party in the back, Jenny’s elegant wedding shoes in front of her maroon converse dancing shoes! That image sums up the story of Mark and Jenny’s wedding day, a romantic garden wedding with a high energy reception!

Mark and Jenny chose to have their wedding and reception at Meadowlark Gardens, where I captured a wedding just two weeks earlier! It was exciting to be back in such a beautiful place at the height of fall in Virginia. Their ceremony on the Atrium porch was lit by gorgeous warm sunset light! It was the perfect time of day for Mark and Jenny to commit their lives together.

It was a relaxing afternoon as we captured portraits around the colorful grounds of Meadowlark. Fortunately we were able to construct the timeline to get nearly all of their photos done beforehand. This is something I strongly suggest to couples; do as many of your couples photos, bridal party photos, and family photos as you can before the ceremony. That will leave you plenty of time to spend with your family and friends at the reception. The only time we left the reception was for a few fun night shots. Meadowlark had just recently finished setting up their Christmas lights display, so we had to take advantage of it once it got dark!

At the reception we enjoyed was great food, short and sweet speeches, followed by an extended dance party! Everyone had a great time dancing the night away with Mark and Jenny. Enjoy their photo story below!
