As I drove to Middleburg to photograph Victor and Ruth’s engagement I passing many downed limbs and even whole trees. A powerful storm had finished moving through the Middleburg area just before I arrived, leaving a surprising amount of destruction. Not only were trees down all over, but car windshields and streetlamps had been smashed by quarter size hail. I wasn’t sure if we could still have the engagement shoot, but as I pulled in it looked like the storm was finished and in it’s place was a beautiful evening with warm sunlight and some of the most incredible clouds I have ever seen!

I first met Ruth and Victor very briefly at another wedding last summer, so it was fun to connect again. They are a great couple! They kept things light during the session, which made for some great moments to capture! We walked around the quaint main street of Middleburg then moved to some nearby fields for the brilliant sunset.
