Morning Engagement Session in Old Town Alexandria | Scott and Madelaine

Engagement

Three years after Scott and Madelaine met, on their 1000th day of dating, Scott asked her to be his wife in Grand Central Station. Both love travel, exploration, and seeing new places. They share a love for the DC and Alexandria area, even becoming recent residents of the area. When it came time for their engagement, we almost went inside DC, but switched last minute to a place where they would be spending time in the future, a place where their story will begin as husband and wife.

We took to the waterfront and the streets of Alexandria to explore, find great light, and just have a good time. They beat the worst of the summer heat, and even got to include their dog Oliver who Madelaine affectionately refers to as“insane.”

I don’t take it lightly when you invite me into your story.

After 10+ years and hundreds of weddings, this remains true: it all starts with trust, connection, and a shared belief that this really matters.

Whether we’re hiking through Shenandoah, gathering with your people downtown, or in the backyard of a beloved home, I’m there to notice what’s sacred and make it last. I aim to capture the kind of photographs that don’t just look beautiful, but genuinely reflect you and the life you’re creating.
