Old Town Alexandria Wedding Portrait Session | Mike and Val

Wedding

Mike and Val contacted me just a few days before they took one of the biggest steps in their lives. This wasn’t a rushed decision, for them it was simply the best time to go to the courthouse and be married! Having incredible photos to commemorate the day was something that was very important to both of them, so on the morning before they went to the courthouse we spent a few hours exploring around Old Town Alexandria.

We visited Carlyle House, walked the streets, and had a great time enjoying a rare cool August morning. The image above came from wanting to get a shot of the date on Mike’s watch. But then I quickly saw the opportunity for a reflection, resulting in one of my favorite images so far this year.

I don’t take it lightly when you invite me into your story.

After 10+ years and hundreds of weddings, this remains true: it all starts with trust, connection, and a shared belief that this really matters.

Whether we’re hiking through Shenandoah, gathering with your people downtown, or in the backyard of a beloved home, I’m there to notice what’s sacred and make it last. I aim to capture the kind of photographs that don’t just look beautiful, but genuinely reflect you and the life you’re creating.
