a Modern and relaxed wedding venue in Northern Virginia

Where can you go that feels like you’re hidden away from it all, but you’re actually right in the middle of it? That’s the feeling I’ve had documenting weddings at 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church, Virginia. It’s in the heart of the busy Northern Virginia area, yet it feels like it’s off on it’s own, secluded from the bustle.

The Setting

It’s a intimate yet large venue for weddings of all sizes. It’s not just a restaurant, but can hold up to 200 with multiple different room options. I love it’s mix of modern architecture and natural elements that gives it an elevated but relaxed feeling.

When I first arrived I was so happy that we were surrounded by lush greenery and an array of ponds and water installations. It gave it an other-worldly feel, something you don’t see every day. My whole goal is to document my couples enjoying their day to the fullest so that when they look back at their images they can see exactly what the day felt like. 2941 gave them the space to be present in that way.

Lance and Kelly’s wedding was in the heart of spring, with new growth and florals coming up all around us. Matt and Kelsey’s wedding was in the early fall, and with each I loved being able to craft their portraits in such a beautiful outdoor environment. When we moved indoors we were surrounded by stunning pieces of artwork inside the venue. It’s truly a space with a variety of styles and certainly one where heavy decorating is not needed.

The Experience

But what 2941 Restaurant is most known for is their food. In their words, ”we believe that dinner isn’t just a meal, it’s an experience.” It’s definitely going down one of the best dinners I’ve ever had at a wedding and it’s one of the primary reasons these couples chose it as their wedding venue.
