Wedding at Piedmont Country Club | Josh and Shannon
Three days into 2020 and it’s the first wedding of the year! Going into Josh and Shannon’s wedding day was exciting for me. It was a fresh start and a warm day at the start of a new year, and I knew from their engagement session at UVA how good they were going to be in front of the camera.
Their winter wedding started out with preparations at Piedmont Country Club in Haymarket, Virginia. I bounced between capturing Shannon and her girls finishing their makeup and popping champagne, and Josh and his guys struggling to get the perfect length for the ties. This bridal party was a fun, kind group that were easy to work with and were full of joy the entire day. Some of my favorite moments came with Shannon and her ladies, both when they helped her finish putting on her dress and when they all prayed over her before the ceremony.
For the ceremony itself we drove a short ways to Centerpointe Church, the church of Shannon’s parents. Josh and Shannon mentioned to me that while this is a day to celebrate them, it was also a day to honor and remember their parents, the people closest to them who have meant so much in their lives. During the ceremony there were multiple, sweet moments that did just that.
After the ceremony it was back to Piedmont for the reception where the bridal party made a huge entrance! Just check out a few of their moves below. This was a reception filled with high energy dancing, moving speeches, and emotional parent dances. Finishing out the night was a grand sparkler exit in front of Piedmont and their best friends and family wishing them the best. I was blessed to be able to capture such a beautiful day, enjoy their photo story below!
