Wedding at the Carnegie Institution for Science | JJ and Sarah

This wasn't just a fun wedding and reception at the Carnegie Institute in DC. This was a multi-day event celebrated with Korean, American, and Indian ceremonies!

It started for me on Friday evening at Sarah's home where her family put together the Korean ceremony. The first images in the gallery below show the images from that night, including a fun shot of JJ and Sarah catching dates, thrown to them by their parents, indicating how many kids they will have. Check out their family's reaction to how many kids it will be! It was a fun, casual evening with lots of laughter and anticipation of the weekend ahead.

Saturday was the main event, with JJ and Sarah enjoying time with the bridal party at their hotels, followed by the wedding and reception at the Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington DC. I had an absolute blast getting to know the bridal party and capturing the moments of fun, anticipation, and pure excitement!

The Carnegie Institution is an extremely regal place with a circular rotunda area for the ceremony and reception dancing, as well as a dark, moody library where Sarah put on her dress. Both JJ and Sarah chose the venue in part because they loved the architecture, so we made a point to show that off throughout the day.

The events continued Sunday with a causal Mehndi at JJ's home and then on Monday with a traditional Indian ceremony in Maryland. Over the course of the weekend, I was constantly amazed by the kindness and generosity of JJ and Sarah, their friends, and their family. I say it a lot about my clients and I may sound like a broken record, but it was once again true; I felt like part of the family. I am honored that I was there to capture and preserve their most precious memories.
