What to expect when working with Rob Jinks Photography

One of the first things my wife and I did after we got engaged was start looking for a photographer. The problem was, we didn’t know what to look for at the time, what the process would be like, and what to expect overall. We were newbies and what we needed was someone to guide us on the journey.

I wanted to take this blog post to share with you what guiding you on that journey looks like. We’ll look at my vision, my process, and my promise to you, my clients. The goal is to help you understand what to expect when having me document your wedding. I’ve compiled these main points as well as some FAQs to help guide you through what the entire journey of having me as your photographer looks like. With that, let’s dive in, starting with my five pillars.

My Vision, Process, and Promise to You

Adventure

You’ve seen that word from the very moment you entered the website. My background in the outdoors has given me a zeal for adventure and this is a big part of what I bring to your wedding day. Your life is already an amazing adventure, full of story, meaning and powerful moments. It is a beautiful journey. I’m simply here to capture it and not get in the way :)

I use a documentary approach that will give you space for the spontaneous and the unknown. I’ve found over the years that those are some of the moments my clients have treasured the most. That brings us to an important question: does this mean I’m completely candid with my photography, with no direction? Good question :)

Integrity

There are times when you need direction. We might be creating an epic portrait or there might be a particular unique area where I want to create something special. During those times I’ll be as unobtrusive as possible. I’ll guide you as needed, giving you only as much direction as is necessary to create space for beautiful moments to happen.

When you look back at your photos, I want you to know for sure that these were authentic moments that you actually lived. I don’t want your memory of a moment to be tainted by my having asked you to do something twice, or from your being pulled out of a moment to do something else. I want there to be integrity to each and every photo.

Empathy

In order to document your wedding and give you photos that feel authentic and have that integrity, I have to know you! I promise to meet you where you’re at and help you along the way. I don’t just want to be your photographer, I hope to be your friend. I’ll take time at your engagement session, during our meetings, and more to get to know you and your story. When the time comes for your wedding, it will be that much easier to know which moments will be most important to you, and you will feel completely at ease with our process.

Support

Right alongside knowing you and your story is knowing the challenges you will face in your wedding planning process. I don’t just want to be there for your photos, I want to help you create the perfect experience and help your wedding day go as smoothly as possible. I’ll help you create the best timeline for photos and make sure it melds well with the other vendors. We’ll set expectations and ensure that you’ll be worry-free and able to love your wedding day.

Legacy

When all is said and done, I want this to be not just about the wedding day, but about reliving those memories for a lifetime. This is your legacy you’re building. Through your digital files, your prints, and your album, you’ll be able to carry on your legacy and share it for generations to come.

I hope that helps you understand the details of my vision, process, and promises to you! I’ll finish out now with a few frequently asked questions
