Pretty photos are great, can be planned, but can be less meaningful and are not particularly difficult to take.
Story-filled images are great, but can’t always be planned. They take careful, watchful presence and are much more difficult yet satisfying to freeze.
Eric and Alana’s wedding felt like those two coming together constantly.
We explored around the Boulder Bridge and we wandered through the woodland trails, always with a destination in mind, but with plenty of space for them to be themselves. After all, this is a day to be lived, not a production to get through.
We joined their family back at the ceremony site, a cozy spot next to the rustling stream. A few steps away they had laid out a lovely brunch spread.
Through it all I was grateful to get to notice and preserve the emotion and the story that made this experience it’s own. It’s what I love most about my job, the storytelling is always unique.
