Driving up to John and Diane’s wedding in the Shenandoah National Park, I was reminiscing on the two weeks leading up to that day. Those weeks were filled with annual family vacations, a yearly opportunity to spend time with some of the most important people in my life. It started with a few days at Massanutten Resort, with swimming, hiking, and enjoying the mountains, followed by a week at Rehoboth Beach, enjoying the sand, sun, and amazing boardwalk food! But after a month off from weddings, I was excited to capture John and Diane’s day in one of my favorite places, the Shenandoah!

Choosing Skyland Resort in the Shenandoah was easy for John and Diane, as they have already spent a lot of time as a couple enjoying the Appalachian Trail and camping together. I first met this fun couple at their engagement session at Harpers Ferry West Virginia, the place where they were engaged! The outdoors has played a big part in shaping who they are individually and as a couple.

Even though the weather forced us indoors for the ceremony, we could not have had better light later in the day when it came time for portraits with the Shenandoah views! Check out just how much fun we had exploring the areas around their venue on the ridge of Skyline Drive.

I want to give a big shout-out to the incredible vendors who brought this day together, thanks for your help!

I don’t take it lightly when you invite me into your story.

After 10+ years and hundreds of weddings, this remains true: it all starts with trust, connection, and a shared belief that this really matters.

Whether we’re hiking through Shenandoah, gathering with your people downtown, or in the backyard of a beloved home, I’m there to notice what’s sacred and make it last. I aim to capture the kind of photographs that don’t just look beautiful, but genuinely reflect you and the life you’re creating.
