The Northern Virginia area has an incredibly diverse array of wedding venues, everything from gardens and art galleries to breweries and caves! With how many choices there are it can be difficult to come to a decision and find the right place for you.
This list is intended to help you think through what matters most to you and give you ideas for what kinds of venues are available. It is by no means exhaustive; there are countless venues in Northern Virginia and hundreds in wider the DMV area!
Here are ten great venues where I’ve had the privilege of documenting weddings. In no particular order, let’s jump in, all photos by Rob!
Sweeney Barn
Located in Manassas, Virginia, Sweeney Barn is one of those places you can’t believe is so convenient! It’s just a few miles from Old Town Manassas, close to many hotel options, and right next door to the brewery campus Farm Brew Live.
As for the venue itself, this is where a rustic barn met a classy lady. The upper floor reception space has a high dark wood ceiling with elegant chandeliers. Don’t worry about the weather, as Sweeney can adapt with an outdoor or indoor ceremony option. See more weddings at Sweeney Barn here!
2941 Restaurant
If food is a top priority, where better to go than a private restaurant? 2941 Restaurant, in Falls Church, Virginia, is a food destination where the meal isn’t just a meal, but an experience crafted by expert chefs.
But more than that, this is a venue where modern architecture is mixed with unique water installations and a lush outdoor garden. Evergreen Country Club
While there are many country clubs in the area, Evergreen Country Club is one where I didn’t feel like I was at a golf course. Located in Haymarket, Virginia, what sets it apart are the manor house and the ceremony space directly adjacent. The garden and stone walls feel timeless and elevated. Just beyond that are wooded hills that are perfect for photography at sunset.
Meadowlark Gardens
Meadowlark Gardens is a wedding venue in Vienna, Virginia, that also happens to be a 95 acre oasis of lush plants, garden installations, and pure serenity as part of the NOVA regional park authority.
It has options for small intimate elopements as well as full traditional weddings. I’ve written much more about Meadowlark and their wedding options here!
River View at Occoquan
This is another venue that is part of the NOVA regional park authority and the name says it all. River View is a partially glass enclosed venue that gives you a stunning view overlooking the Occoquan River. It’s a perfect indoor and outdoor option, with most ceremonies outside on the lawn and receptions on the balcony and inside the hall with up to 400 guests.
Inn at Vint Hill
Located in Warrenton, Virginia, weddings at the Inn at Vint Hill feel timeless, classic, and frankly, easy! This is an all-in-one venue where you can get ready inside the elegant manor house, have your ceremony on the lawn, and head into the reception with in-house catering inside a huge tent. This tent isn’t like what you’ve seen before, this is a high vaulted tent with huge wood beams, making it spacious, fun, and unique! More from weddings at the Inn at Vint Hill here!
Marriott Ranch
One of the farthest recommendations on this list, a wedding at Marriott Ranch is worth every mile. Nestled in the low rolling hills of the Shenandoah Valley, Marriott Ranch will make you feel like you’ve stepped into a countryside wedding away from all your troubles. The Refinery at 120
Located in the heart of downtown Culpepper, The Refinery At 120 is a perfect mix of modern, classic, and friendly. It’s space is extremely customizable and has options for hosting family and friends right next door. Their staff are some of the best people I’ve worked with and they even include day-of coordination as part of their packages.
Airlie
Want to spend the whole weekend on-site with your people, eat great food, and enjoy activities such as hiking and archery? With a garden wedding ceremony spaces that is unlike anything in Northern Virginia and the largest reception pavilion I’ve ever seen, Airlie is a campus of opportunity.

River Farm
As the headquarters for the American Horticultural Society, River Farm is nestled along the Potomac River, just south of DC in Alexandria, Virginia. It offers multiple gardens and sprawling lawns that feels intimate yet expansive. It’s an ideal venue for those who love the outdoors and the convenience of being close to DC.
I know I’ve only scratched the surface here, there are hundreds of other options in the Northern Virginia area. But hopefully this helps widen your search and cues you in on a few options you may not have know about before.
